Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark
Another late 70s early 80s band that embraced the synthesizer and forged an entirely new style of music. And like the best of their contemporaries, they embraced the “synthpop” label, while retaining the delight at what could be achieved when experimenting with the instruments at their disposal.
Not just another Glaswegian band…
It’s fucking Mogwai !
Hand of Juno
First mentioned this band a few months ago because the guitarist, Alice Lane Pandini, is also the bass player for Infected Rain. Finally got around to buying their album because 3 super hot ladies–and one dude–playing some killer industrial metal was always going to be a buy from me.
Female Fronted Doomcore…
I’ll admit, I only bought this because it was a “name your price” so was cheap. I am a techno fan, and I do like Hardcore but I’ve not heard much Doomcore, and I definitely don’t know any of the artists, so taking it on good faith that they are all women. Still, this has some good tracks, and was certainly worth the price I paid.
German Gothic Metal…
Almost seems like a cliche but I liked this enough to buy it. Sadly this was the band’s last release and they went on an indefinite hiatus 16 years ago.
