After weeks and weeks and weeks of futile attempts to get this fucking program to install and run on Linux, I have finally given up and sent it to Oblivion.

For, you see, something better has come along. Folks, I present: Amethyst Mod Manager. A native Linux mod manager that works along the lines of MO2 but actually works a thousand times better.

As an example of what I mean, MO2 makes you manually install SKSE into the Skyrim directory, whereas Amethyst allows you to install automatically the way you do every other mod. Same goes for Part 2 of the Engine Fixes that required you to manually drop the files into the Skyrim directory–Amethyst does it for you.

Of course, in Windows this is a much easier procedure than it would be in the psycho circus that is Linux, so thank fuck sanity prevailed with that decision.

So anyway, apologies to anyone who may have kept an eye out for the promised Mod Organizer 2 tutorial I was writing–and I was writing it and taking screenshots to illustrate procedures–but that all got lost when I deleted my Windows partitions and switched to Linux full time.

I haven’t bought this on Bandcamp because I bought the CD 25 years ago but here it is available to download, so do yourself a huge favour and grab yourself a copy. Fucking brilliant.

The industrial legends…

John Carpenter has long been one of my favourite directors. The 5 projects he’s collaborated on with Kurt Russell are some of the greatest movies ever made, and the ones without Kurt are all equally as great. A part of what makes them all so brilliant is the soundtrack, so finding this on Bandcamp was a real treat! Admittedly, I already have a CD called “Great Movie Soundtracks” that has the Starman, and Escape from New York themes on there but having all these others is a dream come true.

This is a tricky one for me because while I 100% support Ukraine and its fight against the invading Russian terrorists, there are elements of that country that are very problematic. One of those things is its refusal to recognise the existence, and the rights, of their LGBTQi citizens—many of whom are probably on the front lines defending against and repelling the walking-shitstains attacking them. The proceeds of the sale of this album are supposed to go to help those folks, so even though it has been about 4 years since its release I hope this is still the case.
